Cesar: The Story of a Drummer is the title of the highly successful biography of Cesar Zuiderwijk. This autumn, this unique story comes to life in a "college tour" featuring the Golden Earring drummer alongside author and music journalist Jean-Paul Heck. Heck co-wrote the book with Zuiderwijk, and the story unfolds in an evening of spoken word combined with a touch of "drum violence." Throughout the evening, Zuiderwijk and Heck essentially pull you into the book, alternating sensitive moments with hilarious stories and beautiful anecdotes. In Cesar: The Story of a Drummer, visitors become part of the evening by asking questions or perhaps sharing their own great stories about Cesar or Golden Earring. It promises to be a unique night where a piece of Dutch pop history literally comes to life. The massive successes, the difficult moments, his personal life, Cesar's solo work, the band Sloper, and the end of Golden Earring—it is all packed into this performance.
